Injection

Keloid Injection is the first line of treatment for Keloid Therapy. The procedure involves injecting a keloid with interferon or corticosteroids to lowers the keloid cells’ metabolic activity thereby softening and flattening the scars over the treatment duration.

The process not only gives good results—though with possibility of keloid recurrence—but is also painless, without side effects, and with Cortisone Injections, the safest and least painful way to treat a keloid, resulting in flat and smooth skin. The treatment injects corticosteroid drug directly into the lesion to cause the unsightly scar to atrophy and become thin and needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks for the most satisfying results, and to be sure continued 3 to 6 months until satisfied.

The treatment involves a series of at least two injections with the second injection, whose effects last 3 months, given 6 weeks after to fully optimize the effects of the treatment. The first injection reduces the tenderness and irritation of thickened hypertrophic scars by injecting them with Triamicinolone Acetonide.
